bubble, blowing
I finished my Woodland Creatures Quartet! I am so happy. I love it when I finish things and I can just sit back and admire them. And I love doing series. That is why I adore illustrating fics so much.

I already showed you my sparrow, or birdie as I call him, and my squirrel. Now it's time to share my fox and my owl.

Pretty, aren't they?

They also look gorgeous framed in my handy Ikea frame:

I am so happy about my nice neat little series. Here they are all together:

I have them in my etsy shop as both a pack of four greeting cards and a pack of four postcards.

Later on I plan on doing a Jungle Animals Quartet and an Arctic Animals Quartet. Which will bring me up to twelve animals. Which.... Would mean I would have the perfect number for making a calendar! Guess who inspired me to make a calendar?

I am so happy with my little animals that I have also been thinking about using them as covers for the handmade notebooks I am thinking of making and printing them on tote bags. What do you say?

The owl! Divine. And the fox is wonderful, quite sinister, in a good way.

Would you be offering different colours with the same design or just these set colours?

More or less these colours. They are hand-printed one by one, not digitally made. Making more colour options would be too much hard work for something so simple.

Thank you! My sister also tells me the fox looks like a wolf. But others see it as a fox. Strange that...

:D I think it's because he looks like he's howling to the moon. But I read a lot of creature!fic so I'm biased. ^^ They are lovely. :)

Prints would totally be awesome for this. And greeting cards and postcards.

These would all do wicked well if you had them sold at a stall or a craft faire!

I'm having a hard time doing the prints. It's not easy find coloured acid free paper, so I thought about using white and printing first the background colour then the animal. But the paper I bought is not working for me. I spent all evening trying to get a couple of good prints, and I'm still not happy with any of them!

I am definitely going to try a market stall once I have enough stock!

I love the wolf. It's amazing. ♥ I can't wait to see the Arctic Animals Quartet.

I really like the idea of wall prints, though I guess I would prefer them all to have the same background colour then.

The arctic animals will come last, after the jungle animals, because I am having a hard time coming up with four suitable animals. Also I'm taking a bit of a break from the animals to work on some other stuff. Like my fest assignments.

I tried them out as wall prints. Because it's hard finding acid free (ie will not fade or change colour with time) coloured paper, I used black paper. But I did add a coloured background with paint first. I made a post on my other blog about my experiences with the papers I tried out and photos of the prints:

Lovely series you got there. The wolf is my favorite, but they all would look gorgeous as covers for notebooks.
I shall remember to check out your Etsy shop when I'll have some money to spare ;)

Thank you! I have made them into small softcover notebooks and put them up in my shop. I will eventually get round to make a post about here too.

Thank you! I do like them framed too. The rest of my animals have been put on hold for now. I have a lot of other projects I want to work on first. But I will do them as soon as I can!
